You&#8217;re here because you have a D700 radio and you want help programming it with the dusty old Kenwood software. Well, you may have found out the help file for the MCP-D700 software is bricked by Windows 10 end of life, and when you try to open it, it doesn&#8217;t render well. I found this out just today myself and thought, &#8220;This is great, thanks Kenwood.&#8221; And then gave Claude the file to make into a PDF for me. Then I thought, &#8220;Why stop there? I&#8217;ll have Claude scrub the internet for extra tips and tricks for programming the radio, and I&#8217;ll also ask for it to be written so even a smooth brained ham like myself can read through it and understand it. So then I did that. Why? You might ask, and I say, because CHIRP doesn&#8217;t have all the options, and I don&#8217;t want to try to find the RT Systems disc which I installed on an old laptop which has since gone to laptop heaven (and by laptop heaven I mean it went belly up and I shoved it into a drawer of my desk, never to be seen again). So see below for the PDF on everything you need to know about the Kenwood MCP-D700 programming software and how to use it. Feel free to share it. All sources are cited. The work is mine (and Claude&#8217;s) and it can be freely redistributed but never sold and all that. I don&#8217;t want to find it on those scammy eBay &#8220;PDF Manual&#8221; for your radio auctions or those &#8220;Instant download&#8221; owner manual sites, ok? Let me know if you find it there.
